The 1.6mm are for size 10-14 and the 2.4mm are for 8-10. 2.4 mm is for Caddis and big Mayflies 1.6 mm is for Mayfly and small Caddis.

Daniel Wilmers Air Body Tool
The tool works well to make extended bodies for dry flies. It does take a bit of practice to determine the correct amount of heating to apply. I would recommend using a strip of foam to fill the body prior to attaching it to the hook.
