Orvis Battenkill Disc Drag Fly Reel
PREMIUM ORVIS BATTENKILL MID ARBOR FLY REELS — A MODERN LEGEND REIMAGINED
Welcome to the definitive Orvis Battenkill Mid Arbor Fly Reel destination at Casters Fly Shop. Few names in the fly fishing world carry the timeless heritage and reputation for rugged dependability as the iconic Battenkill family. Completely updated to integrate a high-performance mid-arbor architecture, this version seamlessly blends old-school classic aesthetics with the rapid line recovery speeds, smooth startup inertia, and uniform loop controls required by modern technical anglers.
HERITAGE ARCHITECTURE MEET CONCENTRIC DRAG TECH:
• Hydros-Inspired Sealed Disc Drag Systems: Underneath its classic exterior lines hides a technically superior, fully stacked carbon-and-stainless disc drag system based directly on premium Hydros engineering. This gives you ultra-smooth structural tension to confidently slow down hot trout and light-line targets.
• True Mid-Arbor Line Management: Experience significantly reduced line coil memory and rapid line pickup. The balanced mid-arbor spool width provides extensive backing capacities while preventing thin running lines or monofilament rigs from slipping behind the housing tolerances.
• Ergonomic Delrin Grips & Curved Reel Foot: Built with an optimized, curved reel foot profile to permanently eliminate bankside leader kinking during transport, paired with comfortable, non-slip handles for all-weather winding control.
MACHINED AIRCRAFT ALUMINUM STRENGTH:
Every Orvis Battenkill Disc reel is carefully carved from top-tier 6061-T6 aircraft-grade barstock aluminum and finished with a rich, hard-anodized black nickel or matte olive jewel coating. Engineered to comfortably shrug off frame-scarring rock bumps and rough bottom contacts while remaining incredibly lightweight on delicate graphite and classic glass setups, this workhorse series brings timeless style directly into the modern era. Fully backed by the legendary Orvis warranty, outfit your favorite stream rods with a true benchmark setup.
